Engineering of Do-it-Yourself Rich Internet Applications

We had the opportunity to present our work about Semantic Mediation Techniques for Composite Web Applications at the 14th International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE 2014) in Toulouse, France in a talk on the main conference track, as a poster and a demo.

We are glad to announce that our submission Semantic Mediation Techniques for Composite Web Applications has been accepted for publication as a short paper at the ICWE 2014. The article describes techniques for data mediation (automatic resolving of interface incompatibility), the corresponding architecture and implementation developed in EDYRA.

After three years of research, student assistance, and theses, EDYRA ends. Fortunally, project results will be maintained and extended in follow up projects.

We had the opportunity to present our work about CapView – Functionality-Aware Visual Mashup Development for Non-programmers at the 13th International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE 2013) in Aalborg, Denmark in several ways: as a talk on the main conference track, and as a poster and demo. Overall a great week at the conference with interessting talks, discussions and new contacts.

We gave insights on our project results at this years edition of Output and Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften in the context of the ResUbic lab.

We are glad to announce that our submission CapView - Functionality-aware Visual Mashup Development for Non-Programmers has been accepted for publication as a full paper at the ICWE 2013. The paper describes the concepts and the evaluation of the CapView. CapView is a view overlaying a mashup in use and highlights functionalities of components and their functional interplay in a task/activity-oriented manner.

We are glad to announce that a work-in-progress paper has been accepted for publication at the ICIW 2013.

The leaflet received a complete an thorough rewrite to present current research activities and results. First field test will be performed by our research colleague Andreas at QUATIC 2012.

Currently, there are several students working on their bachelor, masters or diploma thesis advancing the conceptional basis of our platform. Additionally, students assist us in implementing our proof-of-concept prototype.

We are glad to announce that a work-in-progress paper has been accepted for publication at the ICIW 2012.

In EDYRA, it should be possible to use Mashup applications synchronously. In contrast to traditional CSCW approaches, EDYRA strives for a component based approach, where beside new possibilities also a huge amount of challenges have to be taken. Therefore, the thesis' goal is to create a concept for synchronising mashup components.

In EDYRA, components are described and composed based on their public interface. Since components can be provided by different third parties, syntactic and semantic differences, for instance heterogeneous units or vocabulars, can occur. The thesis' goal is to study if and to which extent such differences can be automatically resolved.

The publication outlines the vision as well as the overall concepts of the EDYRA platform.
