Managing ontology schemas without using versions

Aufgabenstellung

The objectives of this thesis should be to evaluate the result of the bachelor thesis of Felix Mai and to extend the approach to include A-Boxes. Therefore the concepts of Ontology Mapping, Ontology Matching, and Ontology Alignment must be considered. As a next step, an overlook on the update of A-Boxes has do be given. As a result criteria for the reviewing of the existing approach have to be defined. Resulting from this review and the previous findings, requirements for the concept must be affiliated and the existing concept has to be extended to regard the adaption of A-boxes, when the schema is changed. Finally the concept must be implemented as a prototype within KIMM+.
In detail, the following sub-tasks have to be solved:

Presentation of the state of the art of Ontology Matching, Mapping and Alignment.

Presentation of the state of the art in executing updates on ontologies.

Definition of a use-case and review of the approach to update T-Boxes.

Development of a concept for the update of A-boxes.

Prototype implementation and evaluation in the context of KIMM+.
